What is the Benefit Preview Program?
The Thursday night before each Stage III production opens to the public, we do a Benefit Preview performance. These are just like a regular show, but the proceeds go to another Casper non-profit group.
Groups that receive a Benefit Preview sell their own tickets for any price they like, as long as it is not less than Stage III’s standard prices, do their own publicity, and provide their own box office and usher personnel for the evening. In return, they keep all the proceeds from the evening, paying Stage III only the royalty fee for one night’s performance (these vary depending on the show, but are typically around $60). Benefit Preview groups are also free to supplement their income by selling refreshments before the show and at intermission. Depending on the number of tickets sold, which can be up to 132, groups can raise as much as $1,000 or even more with a Benefit Preview.
Recipient groups for each season are chosen during the summer before the season begins. If your non-profit group is interested, please send a letter outlining what your group does for the community and telling us whether you are interested in a particular show or would accept any show (the shows for next season are chosen by the end of March – check the News section of the website for an update). Letters should be sent to Stage III at 900 N. Center Street, Casper, WY 82601, attention Benefit Preview coordinator, by July 31st. For more information, email stage3@wyoming.com.
